YorkshireJumbo wrote:Had something similar on the windscreen of a hire car recently, and it was spectacular. You could almost drive in heavy rain with the wipers off. First time I'd seen it, and I thought it might have been a feature of the hire firm. After a few days of driving in the rain, it became less effective, until it had basically stopped working. It was then that we noticed the arc of worn windscreen caused by something like a badly worn blade scraping the screen
stefan einz wrote:Yes, it is very good stuff indeed. I have it on all my cars and at higher speeds, at night I get a better view without using windscreen wipers.
This is a video showing the effect on one of my cars.

Far better than the old product I used to use - RainX - which would smear after a few weeks.
Cheers

I wonder if this stuff is similar nanotechnology . . . ?
Mr Cholmondeley-Warner wrote:Ombrello used to last a whole winter. I've tried other cheaper things, and none of them last as long. 2 winters would be outstanding - I think any product would struggle over that period. Frost and scrapers are their worst enemy - hard for them to withstand a ham-fisted driver anxious to get the frost off the windscreen so they can drive off - and yes, it still freezes onto the windscreen.

Off topic for a car forum but do you have a link for these, I can't locate them on the site? I'd wonder about putting water repellent on the hull, part of me would be expecting her to fall over...!
