Rust VW group cars..

I wonder if anyone else has had success claiming for perforation rust on VW group cars.
The rust in question is one or both of the front wings on most VW group cars based on the Polo or Golf. It may affect others but I know about these two.
Inside the wing is a noise suppressing piece of foam which becomes wet and causes the perforation around the top edge of the wheel arch.
The cure is to replace the wings and trim the piece of foam.
We have the problem on a Seat Ibiza and I am about to contact both Seat and VW (the latter acknowledges the problem) with a view to getting it fixed.
