If you've a photo (black and white acceptable for oldies!) as well, so much the better.

Mine was a 1966 Beetle - bought for a few hundred £ and lasted a year (failed it's next MOT too badly to be worth fixing).

A 1961 Austin Mini, bought for £65 in 1970.

Sold it after a year for a 1966 Austin Mini, for which I still have the receipt somewhere. Had that until I cracked the head and was replaced with a 1969 Mini on which I spent a disproportionate amount of time and money on various mods. During the time I had it, it went through a number of of engine changes including upping it to an 1100 A series at one point, but the 997 Cooper variant was the most satisfying - along with uprated Cooper S discs to stop it! The four Cibie lights on the light bar at the front were a sight to behold

I have a pic or two in the attic which I will try a dig out.

A strange ancient Vauxhall Velox with a bench front seat and a steering column gear change loosely connected to the gearbox by string.

F-Reg 1989 Vauxhall Astra 1.3L bought in 1996 as a 1 owner car, I do have a photo of a similar car somewhere (see below - apologies for poor quality).

surprisingly spritely :D & sold (after 3 years) to bbllr87 who took such great care of it :P (the fire really wasn't her fault though ;) )

B reg Vauxhall Nova saloon. it was a bit beat up when I got it but kept it on the road for just over 3 years, taking it well past 120,000 miles.

Morris Minor ragtop. Bought in 1962.
The dealer saw me coming. Had the AA out 5 times in the first 3 weeks.
Sold for scrap about 6 months later. Older but wiser now.

1978 First of several Moggie minors.
A 1960 cost me £ 30.00 it was written off 6 months later when a datsun estate ran up the back of it and made it about 2 ft shorter. I made a profit on it. :D

1.3 309 GL. Appears to have started something of a pug "thing" for me. Other owned pugs at various times include 309 GTI, 205, 405 Mi-16, 306 DT, 306 GTI-6. Shame the modern ones do nothing for me.

Mine was a 1972 Vauxhall Victor 1800 Estate, bought by me in 1982 for 50 quid (about a week's wages for me then).

It was rubbish.

The first car I owned was an Austin A40 Farina Mk1 (did well in motor racing thanks to good handling) but prior to that I used to drive my parents Wolseley 12. Lovely car in green and black, running boards and leather interior. :D
