I met Joe Cocker many years ago, whilst doing a photographic assignment of him in concert for a newspaper, just after he made the big time with his Grease Band . I was very surprised at how different he was in person from his stage persona.

So, did you come back to it?
Best not listened to on a computer, unless a good soundcard or DAC out to a reasonable HiFi system.
Or, on vinyl, CD or via lossless streaming.
It's one of life's joys, possibly the supreme example of the composer's and librettist's art.
I'm not religious but listening to this piece never fails to take me through an emotional rollercoaster ride.

Quite a time I would think. Bigger or smaller in person... Or just different?

I'm guessing that on and off stage quite a lot of people are different beings. I suspect that they are more extrovert personalities on stage. I've seen it in extreemis in some amateurs. Comedians are notorious depressives (v broad term I know) away from the maddening crowd.

Quiet, strong, very sensible and level headed young man who struck me as someone who knew where he wanted to go. The new found fame did not appear to effect him.... which is more than could be said for the members his band who were either very drunk or high on something! I'd got some great action shots from the stage choosing angles to get some of the ecstatic audience in as a backdrop. Trying to get something a bit more formal after the concert was a nightmare until Joe stepped in and sorted out his band members for me.

No, I haven't done yet, but I will do; though it is rather long.

I have no hi-fi apparatus available to me, so I shall only be able to listen to it on the computer. Maybe it will keep me company while I'm swotting for my underfloor heating project.
