Anyone know a dashcam that sits on dashboard?

I've always preferred gadgets such as my sat nav to be sitting on a dashboard mount instead of being stuck to the windscreen.

Is there a dashcam available that can be stood on some sort of stand on the dashboard?

Each one I've seen so far I get the impression would be filming everything upside down if stood on dashboard instead of windscreen.

Anything with a standard tripod mount, or a GoPro style fitting can, with the right set up. I've got a few bits from http://www.ram-mount.co.uk and they work very well.

Fixing it to the dash might be more tricky.

Worst case, rotating video by 180° isn't too much of a chore, and some cameras will do that for you anyway.

ETA, a downside of mounting it that low may be that you loose the view of things closer to your vehicle.

Many have an option in their firmware to invert the image so they can be used either way around.
