'Worst place toto buy a new car is the UK"
This is the opinion of a Vancouver based Motoring Journalist on this link
fo his article:

It would be interesting to see comments from Forum members on how, where (UK or Europe) and when they purchased their own vehicles, and how prices compare to here.

To compare prices for most makes & models between UK & Western Canada check this link for new & used makes. Add 13% total taxes for either new or used, plus PDI (varies, but average around $1100) and $100 A/C tax on new vehicles. Exchange rate approx $2.13 to one pound. The post code shown will aid in your search. http://driving.canada.com/buy/

For an example I've linked to details for a new Subaru Forester. $28,995 basic

For same make and used.

Hope this is of interest, look forward to any comments

I think too much emphasis is placed on the cost of a car new. Although Spain is cheaper than the UK for new cars, the cost of acquisition (tax) is much higher, and the paperwork involved is horrendous.

Remember that Spain is a burocratic superpower, ask anyone who has bought and sold cars, property, etc. here.

Secondhand cars are even worse! Foreign imports - you need an MBA to find your way around the system.
