Hi,

I'm NEW! :D

My name is dibbs  I live in Kent and drive an Escort. I passed my test when I was 18 and am now 24.

I do approximately 500 miles driving a week and would like to think I am reasonably competent!  As in... I can start the car, and usually end up where I was meaning to go!

However I have really been looking into Advanced driving lately. I have my copy of Roadcraft! And have made enquires about the IAM. A whole new world of higher driving is opening up before me and showing me how much I have to learn.

What I have read and seen so far I have enjoyed and found interesting and I get quite a lot of practice each day to try every new skill or discipline I come across.

Anyway... I have a couple of questions but I will post them up later.

:)

Howdy Dibbs - I like your attitude!

As you've probably gathered there's loads of drivers on this forum some of which with very advanced skills (not me)...post your questions and I can guarantee you'll get nothing but good, solid advice and help.

Hi Dibbs

Remember that, as someone else said elsewhere on this forum, the only silly questions are the ones that you don't ask.

Oh but he will get other things! He'll also get some clowning from me, but maybe there will be the occasional useful contribution from me as well - but don't put too much money on the last bit. Well we can't be all stuffy and serious all the time. 8)

Anyhow, welcome Dibbs, or dibbs etc. Are you case sensitive?

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Welcome Dibbs.

I find the advice people give on this site excelent speaking as a simple IAM assosiate.

What kind of Escort you got? My dad's had two many years ago. He started with a Mk1 which his mother crashed when he was trying to help push it up a snowy hill, change down for more power? oops!, He bought a Mk 2 which we had for aeges, they were both briliant cars.

I like the Mk1/2 Escorts :D . My parents had one when I was younger so I think that is why I like the whole range in general now. Aah, happy memories as a child of dropping apple cores through a rusty hole in the floor and turning around in my seat to watch them bounce off down the road behind us! Good old Ford rust!

I used to have a Mk6 GTi but I now have a Mk6 Rs2000.
