Shimmed tappets, that takes me back to the days of Triumph Dolomites I think :roll: . It must be fairly straighforward if only 0.8hr time allowed.

I suspect that they may want to check if their adjustments work when cold starting on day 2. I'd be tempted to ask if you could drop it off at the end of a day, allow them to do the work the next day and tell them if it has sorted the problem the next morning. After all, it is still starting just now albeit not as well as it should. It seems a pest to be without the car for longer than necessary.

Finally got the starting problem sorted...I took my car in to the garage on Monday, but coz their supplier made a cock up with the parts, I didn't get it back till this evening. Still, it's all working again now... :)

They had to fit a new cambelt kit, so that bumped up the price quite considerably, but I've looked online and average prices are a lot more than I had to pay if the cambelt snaps, so it's good that it was done now ratherthan when it breaks! Phew - I'm just glad I've got me car back - I've missed it!
