OK, so we have three folks willing to provide some input and three volunteers - Dave, Nigel and Nina.

How about Sat 13 or Sun 14th May, location tba but probably North Essex, if that works for everyone?

Nina - which IAM group in Essex have you joined?

No, I'm with Chelmsford Group.

13th is OK for me. How about the rest of you folks?

13th May is good for me and in the diary. I'm going to be away from today until 2nd April, so don't panic if that date needs to change. I can be pretty accommodating providing Nick doesn't double book with an HPC event, which I don't think he would...

Seems good to me, am I a volunteer or a helper ? ( don't mind being both to be honest, to learn from those higher up the tree than me, and to help the associates or anyone else that wants a look at advanced driving)

Dave

Nope no luck with Von, I imagine its a difficult one for him, we are only names on a forum, and he has a good job & pension to look after.

I've not given up hope though

:D

Sounds great! :D

(Just a quick qn...where is North Essex? I dont mean to sound really dumb, but my geography is hopeless, and much as I'm very happy to go there, would like to know   )

It's a fairly long haul for me but I'm still interested, and 13 May (barring unforeseen problems) would be OK.

Please understand though that I would be coming along as bungling amateur status only! I'm very happy to talk about driving with anybody, and I'm quite willing to try to change my ways, but it's not easy after all this time, and I need to be convinced that my style is appreciably lacking in some significant way. This sometimes leaves me looking argumentative and I just don't want to risk spoiling the day for anyone else.

I'm really sorry that it's so difficult getting together with Von, but behind all the banter I do understand his position. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

By the way, who is Nellie? :?

Best wishes all,
Dave.

(Nick) Both really - we can all learn something from others.

(Nina) Just a quick qn...where is North Essex? I dont mean to sound really dumb, but my geography is hopeless, and much as I'm very happy to go there, would like to know.

(Nick) I think we could start in Felsted, near Great Dunmow, which is about 10 miles East of Stansted Airport.

(Dave - TripleS) Please understand though that I would be coming along as bungling amateur status only!

(NF) Dave - if you are interested in having the input, that is good enough for me and I know that none of Dave, James or myself would suggest something that we couldn't thoroughly explain and logically defend.

So, looks like we have an event - Saturday 13th May, start time to be agreed.

Would Dave, Nina and Nigel please send me Private Mails with your e-mail addresses and mobile/landline numbers please. I suggest that we take the actual organisation of this event off-forum since the details are of little interest to non-participants.

I'm a poor Northerner Rick but would be interested in doing something. I'll start saving up for the bridge crossing
