is the guy in the camper van causing an obstruction or driving sensibly?

He should pull over if its a slower vehicle and let them pass really... HC I think...

If I was a traffic cop I'd stop him and 'explain' the error of his ways - he's either rude or ignorant or both.

I've seen the reverse recently where I was following a large tractor on a similar road and after a minute or trundling along he politely pulled in to a lay-by to let the traffic though. I made a point of waving politely - there are good and bad - just like the much maligned HGV driver.

i agree, but where? to me it looks like a single track road for the most part, with the occasional passing place, which seemed to be taken up with oncoming traffic, unless my obs are seriously lacking

i'm the first to criticise lorrys and tractors...

The first thing I saw right at the beginning of the clip was a nice wide junction.

Then there was the time right near the end of the clip where the green car in front made a spirited attempt to go around him, but was hung out to dry.

Most of the passing places would've been fine with a bit of patience to let the oncoming traffic to go past, too.

No excuse, IMNSHO.

Yes, although single track, I think there were a good few places he could have pulled to the left and allowed passage of traffic.

I am betting that the camper driver never looked in the mirrors and was unaware of the following queue!

My mother in law was tugged...and rightly so...for letting a queue of about 20 cars buuild up, she was pootling along at 40mph in a clear NSL.

She is 65, it was unlit and dark..comfort zones are different for different people.

The thing I hate most about queues of traffic is that no-one leaves a gap. I come up behind 15 cars snaking, there is no way I would do a 15 car overtake unless I had a very nice stretch of road and good view.

But if people grouped into threes or fours with gaps between, I could fly past them all much easier

The tractor that i came up behind a couple of days ago did the very same thing,although he didnt have a clue what was behind him as it had no mirrors whatsoever and on the most dilapidated trailer there was one of those big round bales of straw so even if he looked back he wouldnt see anything,but would he pull in to let anyone pass----not on your life,there was not even any sign of any lights on this old thing either,the roof of it had caved in and was tied in place with rope and plastic bag for weather protection ,i wouldnt have dared use it on the farm let alone the road!
