Has anyone else noticed these yellow reflective looking bands that are situated on a lot of, if not all lamp posts, sign posts and bus stop posts etc ?

Does anyone know what their purpose is ?

Road line painter with a Japanese manual - like those you get in flat pack wardrobes.

VASCAR markings? We have a few orange taped lamp posts up here on single carriageway roads. Police sit and use the known distance between the posts to calculate speed. There is one north of inverurie and south of huntly. In both North and South bound directions it appears after a crawler lane where people are likely to have sped up to pass other cars. The tape is about 4ft high though....

...if it's just rings...perhaps health and safety gone MAD and making sure people don't walk into them.

Our lampposts in our road have just been repainted in Bournville Green which look nice until they put a new Orange band around it.

You might be right, H&S gone mad !
