It confirms a lot of people do not see controlling their vehicle as a priority task. These are the people who should not be allowed to drive on the roads.

It is a pity cameras cannot "see" these dangerous practices Perhaps the politicians will add "road safety" to thier manifestos....

Well if they go past a mobile van they may be caught for due care and attention, dont forget the mobiles use moving film as an audit backup

Do these film images get checked? If so that is something that I wasn't aware of. I had noticed the forward facing cameras to get the rear 'plate on bikes etc.

I would imagine they aren't routinely checked, but if the operator notices someone on the 'phone, they might note the time and be able to refer to the video later if their quota of vehicles speeding hasn't been met and they're trying to reach their targets. I would imagine they only have time to look at vehicles going past when there's nothing in their camera sights.

I'm aware that operators in certain Camera Partnerships using video equipment only record when there is an offence being committed. I don't know if this is the case through out the UK.

Are the offences they can record limited by whether the van is staffed by police or civilians?
