Please excuse this apparent trumpet blowing.

I was lucky enough at the end of last year to win an internal award, at work. They presented me with a certificate, and a cheque, at our Christmas dinner dance. Then today, at an internal update meeting, I got presented with this, to complete the deal:

http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/ ... glass_928/

How freakin' cool is that!? It's solid glass, and weighs at least 5 lb.

Sometimes I quite like my bosses :). I had no idea they were doing this (just as I was gobsmacked the first time, when they called out my name at Christmas).

Hope you enjoy, and as I say, please don't take it the wrong way.

You're right - a correctly-deployed genitive plural is a rare and gentle thing indeed!

Congratulations.

Well done Nick. I hope you've not been brown nosing too much!

I wonder if it drives as well as the Alfa?

Seriously though, that's a lovely gift. Put it under a small spot light for best effect.

Glad to see it's running some decent camber.

Very cool indeed, reminds me of some of the leaving/retirement gifts that we give away. Having a stereolithography dept allows some very interesting ideas to take shape. The best was a guy who ran a section of the factory that had a load of robots, he also loved to play guitair... So one of the CAD jockeys modelled the robots playing a guitair! We built it in plastic then shelled, fired, cast and vibro-polished it in the foundry.

What a nice employer, to give you such a thoughtful and personal gift; I am sure it was well deserved.
