DSA changes to the parallel park

Has anyone read about the new changes to the driving test in particular the changes to the parallel park?

Apparently pupils are taking too long to complete the manoeuvre and they are looking at ways to speed it up.
Their argument is that the average pupil takes 2 to 3 minites to complete the manoeuvre on test. In the real world you can't take that long especially if you were in a busy road.

However what they are proposing is ridiculous! In fact they have consulted America's DSA of all things to find out how to do it. Take a look at the DSA official video to see how they would like all pupils to do the manoeuvre from 1st jan next year
