Hey all, just wondering if anyone on this forum has had any experience with using cooking oil as fuel in a diesel engine. Im considering the option of being able to use it as I have a diesel car plus there will be benefits of it costing less, its eco friendly and I will be doing the uk farm industry a load of good.

Be wary about putting it in modern diesels as the injectors are much more sensitive and can be damaged by untreated cooking oil (due to the water content). I believe some manufacturers allow biodiesel to be used, but I know the latest engines from VAG and Ford specifically state that it shouldn't be used.

If in doubt, consult your local dealer :D

Just make sure you pay the duty Joe, or make sure it has been paid on your behalf by whoever supplies it to you.
