Right guys, many thanks for all your suggestions and comments; well, most of them anyhow!
Actually, Dave, I can be a bit dense at times but I'm not deaf, so I'm not attracted to the Citigo if it is noisy, whatever its other qualities might be.
Anyhow the deal was done yesterday, and Eileen is acquiring a 2005 Fiesta Ghia 5 door (actually it's 4 doors + tailgate by my reckoning!), 1.4 petrol engine, white leather interior that looks as if nobody has ever sat in it. It's had one lady owner from new, and it has only covered 27,000 miles. It appears to be a car that has been used sparingly and carefully, and very nicely maintained.
At £3995 it may seem a bit expensive for a small car that is nine years old, but we saw various other Fiestas only £500 cheaper but with 70,000 miles on them, so I don't feel we have done the wrong thing.
Thanks again for your help.
I'm now looking forward to our property deal reaching completion so I can get busy with that garden....
Best wishes all,
Dave and Eileen - two retired OAPs.
