Shell V Power Nitro vs Normal Fuel

Hello

Has anyone used Shell V Power Nitro? I've used it in my Honda Civic 1.8 petrol Granted it is not a high performance engine with 138bhp. However, I have seen around a 5% increase in fuel economy. Nothing, that I can feel in increased power however.

I only use it on occasions as I know it has "cleaning" properties to it. On a tank it costs £5 more to fill, but saves £3 in fuel, so a £2 cost to have this over regular unleaded...

Just wanted to know other peoples views really...Has anyone else seen an improvement? Does it really clean the engine as well as the advertising says?

thank you.

Generally it is designed for high performance engines, which require super/98/99 RON. No problems putting it in a standard car, although I am not sure how good it actually is at helping clean the engine..

I used to use Shell V Power (before they added the "Nitro" bit on)...and I found it very good - BMW 330. But only for high performance cars (250 + bhp)

It's probably the best fuel money can buy - but it does cost extra.

This warmer weather must be helping, I've just managed to get 54.2MPG on a 70 mile journey on A and B roads recently. Not bad from a 1.8 petrol civic.....Would probably give those new "ultra fuel-efficient" diesels a run for their money. I was on V Power too...

V Power does have cleaning additives and a higher octane, so there is no question it is a better fuel. But wasted probably on anything which is not high performance. Some however could argue the cleaning properties help all sorts of cars but I'm unsure. Same goes with V Power Diesel....

Never used anything else in my MEGANE RS 265.
Noticed in my previous hot hatches (chipped and un chipped, currently un chipped)
Tesco momentum 99ron had a noticeable improvement top end of the rev range.
Lost some torque.
V power 98ron extra torque no more power at high revs.
So opted for Vpower.
Get extra points per litre (2p off) and lots of bonus offers.
