Well done Renny.

If you passed your HPT the first time you did a lot better than I did.

I must be a mug because I've just done it again...

I've applied to be a DSA Examiner and having met the application criteria, had to sit my Theory and Hazard Perception tests. This time it was slightly different from the ADI Pt1. The Theory was only 50 questions, as per the new drivers, with a pass mark of 47, and the same 14 clip HPT with a pass mark of 57 out of a possible 75. For the ADI qualification the Theory was 100 Qs with the additional 50 being on teaching and documentation.

Last time I got 65/75 for the HPT, but this time, I over-called the hazards and as a result, my score on 2 clips was discounted (a possible 10 marks lost). I really thought I had blown it  , especially as one of the clips seemed to have a second hazard developing. However, I resisted the strong temptation to just give up at that point (about clip 10) and I managed to score 59.

So for anyone who sits the HPT and thinks they have mucked-up, my advice is to keep going to the end of all 14 clips. It is possible to pass even if you only score on 12 clips  I'd also recommend the Focus Media training DVD to anyone who is going to sit the Theory/HP Tests, at about £8, it is well worth it.

Next hurdle is a "Special Drving Test".

Great news, im brickin mine as i have my LGV C in two weeks time, part one of theory i will be okey with it is hazard perception, with so much hype and people with feelings about it , it can be hard to get the proper advice on how the scoring work i.e to may clicks, clicking to early when you see a hazard developing.

Good Luck with the tests. As I posted earlier, get a copy of the training DVD from Focus (usually in the DVD charts for games at the large (Green & White) supermarkets) and practice. As for the actual test, keep going, no matter what, even if you think you have loused up, or have had a clip "dropped" from your score, you can still pass.

My next hurdle is a "Special Driving Test" mid-April.
