The New UK Driving License??

Hi
Concerning the UK driving license ever since the license document changed from being in the old paper format to the now new PVC credit card style, does anyone actually know how many versions there have been of the new card type license since its introduction?
Also is the photo on the current UK driving license now in black and white or color?

My office mate has just renewed hers and the photo is in colour (and slightly offset so she only has one ear)

I think we are now on Mk2 (as of this year) and it is now a black and white photo.

Interesting that you still need to supply a colour picture though.
"The new photocard licence has a black and white photo. This is because the laser technology used to burn the image onto the card producing a black and white photo is more secure. A colour photo will still need to be provided with your application to be stored on your driver record."

The document about "UK Driving Licence – Level 1 Security Features" was published in September so I'm guessing 3/4 months ago.

I got one of the new ones when I moved house. That was last December so it is at least 12 months.

It has a black and White photo and the other new security features described in INF 60/7.

Longer than that I had a paper provisional and a photo card and I got the mark 2 photocard in aug-sept 07 as I moved into my house in july. I will of had teh photo 10 years in oct and will need to renew and pay about £17.50 for the privallege.
