Is there life beyond the ADI/Fleet badge?

For discussion of topics relating to the Driving Standards Agency Learner Test (DSA L Test) and contribution by ADI's (Approved Driving Instructors)

Is there work out there in the driver training industry if one hasn't got an ADI/Fleet badge?

Could a RoSPA 'Gold' and DipDI holder find paid work out 'there' in the driver training industry?

Thanks..

For money's worth you need to have an ADI qualification, you dont need fleet to work in fleet although many companies like you to have it.

Upgrade training is the only sector - LGV, PCV etc

I suspect even that sector will be limited because many companies will want someone on the register, even though registration is, for the moment, voluntary.

After hearing some of the horror stories about those that are DSA registered for LGV instruction as well as a few that are not, it seems that recommendation is the only thing that matters.

The DSA LGV instructor test is nothing compared to the car one.

They are not tested with a pupil/trainee - how daft is that...........

It's simply a company logo thing to entice punters into thinking that they MUST be good :!:
