Hello from London.

A place for new members to introduce themselves and give some background information as to their experience with driving, likes, dislikes etc. It is advisable to post here first before posting to other forum's on the site.

Not normally one for forum introductions, but this one looks to be a pretty sociable place so...

I've recently joined my local IAM group and have had a couple of observed drives. All very positive. Plenty learnt already - and I don't appear to have upset any of my observers - well none asked me to "pull in by the next bus stop."

In fact, it was on one such drive that I was recommended to actually sign up here instead of lurking. (And a load of other good tips - thanks).

I've still got a long way to go to undo 25 years of bad habits but hey, if you don't try it will never happen.

And watch out for the driving days. Immense fun, and the chance to learn a great deal. Opened up a whole new world for me, anyway.

Yes welcome "Carbon".

I can't recommend the ADUK driving days enough...great chance to drive with all sorts but always done in a responsible, careing/sharing environment, friendly and cheap!

If you have any questions about your SfL course or driving in general ask away...you'll get plenty of advice and only some it ridiculous (watch out for TripleS - he's 'unconventional'!)

Thanks all. Meeting up would certainly be good. 21014 sometime?

It's the South Eastern group - figured this way I would see more of leafy Kent rather than London, which is working out just fine.

Nice idea, CB, but at my leisurely rate of progress I wonder if I'd get there in time.

Hi Carbon Based welcome to ADUK. I think we may have already met at South Eastern. :?:
As you are not far from me do PM if you wish to go out for a drive.

Passed this morning - so a big thank you to jcochrane and the other observers at South Eastern.

Rather chuffed to have a recommendation for F1RST.

Well done...

Would you like to give us a bit of a debrief on the test? - How it went, general observations, what went well, what not so well, etc...

Cheers all.

As for driving days, well couldn't make the last one due to the small matter of a mate's wedding. But all set for March.

Will try to write something up re the process so far. Short version would be all positive and very relaxed.
