Good evening from Reg

A place for new members to introduce themselves and give some background information as to their experience with driving, likes, dislikes etc. It is advisable to post here first before posting to other forum's on the site.

Hello one and all.

My name may or not be Reginald Local and I've been posting in the advanced driving section of Pistonheads for about 8 years on and off. Some of you may already have read some of my posts and contributed to some of my previous PH threads - I had a quick look around the forums and saw one or two familiar member names, so hello to those who already know me!

For those of you who don't, I'm an ex police officer, traffic officer and police driving instructor (standard, advanced, pursuit and VIP escort driving). I now work in local government, but I've never lost my enthusiasm for cars, motoring and especially for driving. I have a track-modified MX5 which is dusted off and used for a few track days every year and I've recently published an ebook "Advanced and Performance Driving" on the Amazon Kindle platform.

Looking forward to chewing the fat on the forums and contributing in a small way to the site. Let me know if you have any burning issues you'd like me to cover.
Reg

Welcome Reg

Despite the sometimes different user names, you'll find quite an overlap between ADUK and PH members. I sometimes wonder just how few of us there really are who care about this stuff...

ADUK driving days near your neck of the woods aren't unknown - keep an eye on the 'Driver Network' forum for details. Hope to see you at one soon.
Do less, better.

Hiya Reg, and welcome to ADUK.

I've been reading your posts on PH and very much appreciated them, and all the work you've put in to produce them. Many thanks for that. If I may say so, I think your articles explain things in a really nice way.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

You are a great writer and a respected authority. Thank you Reg.

But some of us were not so keen on the knees in the MX5 gear change video!

Yes, the knees were a bit distracting weren't they!

Those videos are looking very dated now. I might see if I can borrow some better kit and film some new ones this year.

Hello Mr Local. The north west is fertile ground, and our numbers here seem to be growing. I do hope to organize more driving days in the north west and north Wales - and perhaps you'd fancy a drive some time? It's roof-down weather in Liverpool already!

By-gum Reg it's nice to welcome you over here.

I would like to see some driving days in this part of the world, as David mentioned, and would welcome the opportunity to join in.

"A few more overtakes" is very much in my kneck of the woods, some stretches of your route I drive most workdays - great video.

I just got your book on Kindle! A nice read and some really good stuff in there. Refreshed on some stuff I'd forgotten, and learnt some new stuff too. Love the bit about noting a driver's Sat-Nav for future commentary!
