My thinking was if the nearside rear tyre hit the edge of the pot-hole that was almost entirely covered by the long puddle, it might have unsettled the rear axle enough to slightly unstick the tyres.

The tyres are different brands, middle price and they were in pairs ( not now as I had to replace with what was available)

Looking at the video, I too think that I turned out towards the crown of the road before the bend but the road has a slight right curve in the lead up to the bend. As I lost sight of the road for a second I may have over compensated for the curve.
