I note your profile lists you as a consultant', what topic do you consult for? Is it driving?

The John Miles book is indeed a good read, and HB copies can be found at not too great a price if you look on secondhand sites such as abebooks.com (I think mine cost under a tenner). It's a reprint from the 1980s I think.

Many other good ones out there too.

No not at all.

'Not driving' or 'not consulting'? If not driving, then what? It's interesting and useful to know someone's background when discussing topics.

I used to do that if I braked to a halt in whatever gear I approached the junction in ( as I would have done in a car ) then clicked down into neutral once stopped .

Getting a block change wrong at speed and locking up the back wheel could have been disastrous - I never tried it .
