TSO shop (http://www.tsoshop.co.uk) now lists it as "in stock". I guess it'll filter through to other bookshops shortly...

A good way of describing the famous roundabout. Do I remember correctly that the original plan was to build a fly over and this didn't happen when the contractor went bust?

PS: My avatar is a picture of my RS at the petrol station on bankhead just across from the Amazon depot.

It took me about five minutes to get my hands on a copy, in WHS, Scarborough last Friday.

That plus a new Highway Code set me back £17.49, which produced a sharp pain in the wallet. I dunno, this extravagance can't continue, but I felt I needed to do something to try and get the hang of this driving lark. :)

Best wishes all,
Dave.

I ordered a copy of the new Roadcraft from www.bookdepository.co.uk yesterday for £10.01 inc. P&P, in case anyone is interested.

That sounds like a good buy until somebody comes up with something better.

I only had a quick skim through my copy last night, but it looks to be comprehensively revised and - great news - they appear to have got rid of those stupid tables on pages 11 and 12 of the 2001 edition. That was the sort of nonsense I would expect from BRAKE, or Alastair Stewart (a prize dipstick if ever there was one!) but certainly not from people who have proper expertise in the subject of driving.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

According to bookbutler that's the best price available at the moment. Just ordered mine, too.

Mine arrived at the end of the week (Thursday I think it was). It does seem to be a lot more up to date in its presentation and content.

A worthwhile read

...but read the earlier versions. What has really changed. If someone gave you a first class drive based on the 1960's, 70's or 90's editions, would it be so different from what is advocated in the 2007 edition.

Rhetorical question - comments not really required

I think someone said that there is a 'plateau' of driving and the only step further is perfection.

I'm going to ignore that last remark and make a comment, I've bought each edition since I started my driving career in 1989, and the main change has mainly been colour and the quality of the pictures :)
