What do These Advanced Driving groups look for when chosing People for Observers? Does It vary from Group To Group? What sort of Training do they receive? :? :)

Hello Licensex2,
After you have passed your Advanced test anyone can train to become an observer. With the IAM you start off as a Group Observer and undertake a practical training program, then sit in with a associate under guidance. Once you have done a minimum of 8 hours observing and guided one associate through the IAM test you take the written theory test and once passed become a Group Qualified Observer.

Best Wishes,
Mike

My group, Worcestershire, have introduced a requal scheme for observers, which is a good thing...I think.

I've recently completed mine, I did the theory ages ago, but through one thing and another I didn't do the practical until a couple of weeks ago.

It was surprisingly good to be back under the spotlight again
