Just read in Auto Exp. the DfT have cleared the use of new Traffic Signals at problem junctions. These show direction arrows during the Red/Amber phase and before the full Green phase,(Amber arrow). On the closing phase they work as normal. Apparently experts believe it will make it easier for approaching motorists to know which lane is about to get the go ahead :!:

It won't matter.

BMW 3-Series & X5 drivers will still use whatever lane they wish to.

They are superior people after all.

Aren't they?

And your point is ?

No point in being jealous of a make of car, just get one, you even have a dedicated lane on the motorway !

:D

On a serious note, this may confuse our euro cousins big time

Nice one Nigel!

LMFAO!

And don't worry, after the finances for our wedding have been rationalised a Beemer is probably going to be the replacement for our MGB weekend toy. Have decided against M635CSi (difficult to find clean, standard, RHD, <80,000 mile examples with the OE BBS alloys), so a straight FBMWSH 850i is favourite at the mo.

Hopefully we can then enjoy that fabled one-make lane on the motorways, and the extra supermarket parking space that will come as standard

Mike

I believe they use this style of light in America a lot.
Seems to be ok because it clearly states the lane your in and it's direction.
