Passed the Rospa test :-)

Discussion on Advanced and Defensive Driving.

Hi all,
I've not been at the computer much recently due to my forthcoming test, amongst other things, and I'd just like to share the good news that I passed the test on Friday with a Gold. :D I was extremely pleased about this and could almost hardly believe it as it was a v hot day and I was rather anxious as well, but the examiner was excellent in putting me at ease. I was on cloud 9 for the rest of the day once I'd finally cooled down in some shade! Phew...... in more ways than one!!

ROSPA is something I have been quite keen on doing. I am trying to gain as much "qualification" as possible outside the job to build a portfolio. This is mainly because when I retire I want to do something of a driving nature, not sure what, but something.

The IAM assessment I had was OK. I did not know what to expect as it was my first "external" driving experience. Although I agree it is a fantastic organisation that benefit's many drivers, I didn't feel it was as much of a challenge as I had liked. I found I actually had to tone down some driving aspects of mine to fit in with their ways. I wonder how the ROSPA or ROADAR route compares. I have heard they expect a little more finesse. Please no-one get offended by these remarks, they are all good in their own way and I can only go by the one very short experience I had with my local group.

Wel done in your pass though!
James

Excellent well done - another one - this site is building up quite a list of passes...perhaps there should be a role of honour page or something?

A "Gold Pass" badge sounds infinitely preferable to what was once considered by a former gatekeeper to the HPC, which was a grill badge for HPC Gold holders on which was to be emblazoned the words ...wait for it...

Yep, Yep, we can do that.

Would be good to list people who pass the test who have found out about Advanced Driving here, there's getting a few now.

Easy enough to maintain, what about:

Name, DOB, Test Type, Grade

Nothing too descriptive.

Thoughts?

I guess some people may not want to put their name and date of birth on a publicly available site. How about allowing people to just use their forum username, and put a year of birth or age range?
