I need some biking experience before I apply to Traffic and it looks like I will be going down the GPZ600R route. This entails me to classic bike insurance...

What sort of premium would you expect a new rider to incur?

James,

I'm selling my 1995 ZX6R (f1) at the moment, I insured it so I could make sure it ready to sell and it qualified for classic insurance (£78 for me aged 30, 5 years no-claims and in a "safer" bit of the south east).

I started out with a GPZ500 and after a year of that I upgraded to the ZX6R, from memory the GPZ cost about £300 and the ZX6R was only £20 extra!
