Auto-hide "reported" posts?

Just wondering with the increased spam whether there is a way to auto-hide "reported" posts until a mod comes along and deletes them? Would also cut down on the incidence of members responding to spam posts

I realise there's the potential for abuse here, but this is why I suggested "hide" rather than delete. A mod can then reinstate posts that were reported in error.

Good suggestion Jont. Alternatively, would Darren consider additional Moderators to help?

I'm glad this is being looked at. It's too bad these people coming along and cluttering the place up with extraneous rubbish. I mean to say, who needs it when you've already got me to contend with? :P

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Ah but Dave, most of us see you as the friendly Troll who lurks at the back of the cave and provides entertainment and reminds us of how things were before the internal combustion engine  :P

But what do you do if you genuinely need to improve your golf skills?

Nay I'm not that old.

I didn't think I counted as a troll either, but I'll settle for the 'friendly' bit. Isn't a troll a deliberate troublemaker - for want of a more precise definition. I merely offer views that don't always tally with the generally accepted wisdom.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

I feel no need to improve my golf skills.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

 Its good fun flinging alternative views into the pot. I always look forward to your contributions Dave.

Best wishes

Thank you: one endeavours to offer something of merit, just occasionally. :)

BTW, are you the gentleman that used to appear here as 'rlmr' - or something like that?

Best wishes all,
Dave.

No, RMLR is Rennie R, who also lives in Fife, and was in the same line as VonH, but has now retired. I think he now spends a lot of time sailing and is very active with the E-Boat owners register. I've never met him, but have had some on-line advice from him about sailing and E-Boats.

Before anyone says, we're not talking about German E-boats!
