Shimmed tappets, that takes me back to the days of Triumph Dolomites I think . It must be fairly straighforward if only 0.8hr time allowed.
I suspect that they may want to check if their adjustments work when cold starting on day 2. I'd be tempted to ask if you could drop it off at the end of a day, allow them to do the work the next day and tell them if it has sorted the problem the next morning. After all, it is still starting just now albeit not as well as it should. It seems a pest to be without the car for longer than necessary.
